What is a Cowboy Race?

A cowboy race is a timed event set over several acres that includes obstacles .  It is judged as well as timed.  Each obstacle offers the competitor a chance to better their score.  If you do your obstacles quickly and smoothly, and you will get a great score.  For example, you may receive a score of 0-5 on each obstacle (0 is the worst and 5 is the best) ...you have approximately 15 obstacles (time is considered one of the obstacles)... After all is tallied, the highest score wins... it's really fun!

" Showing Should Be Fun"

Thanks to all of you for coming to our Demonstration and Free Clinic!
and thanks to anyone who helped out as well..

I thought our Clinic was a huge success and I was very impressed with the level of riders and horses.  I am very excited that so many of you want to do Ranch Horse Versatility.

It sure looks like there is more than enough interest in these events to get us to start working on some shows here at the farm this coming year...  ( I'm so excited! : )  )

I have included a link to some "Green Rider Rules" for everyone to print out at home and read over.
It will probably be the same format that we will try and do here, more or less.

For anyone that may want to travel to some shows with us next year, here is the link to join the EMRHA, they also do Green Rider Classes and will be giving a buckle to High Point Green Rider this year!!! ... They will have three shows in 2010.
Eastern Mountain Ranch Horse Association

I would like to spend the winter doing some more Free Classes with everyone to help us to get ready for the show season next year...  We may hold these on Saturday afternoons during the winter so that we can  use the indoor arena.
